  Notes	Eadgifu was the daughter of Sigehelm, Ealdorman of Kent. Her birth date is uncertain.[1][2] A charter of 959, relating to land at Cooling, Kent, records her father's name.[2] By 920 Eadgifu became the third wife of Eadweard the Elder.[1][2] They had the following children: St Edburga of Winchester[1][3] Eadmund, who became king in 939[1][3] Eadred, who became king in 946[1][3] Eadgifu, who is said to have married Louis of Aquitaine (his precise identity is uncertain)[1][3] During the reigns of her son Eadmund and Eadred she subscribed royal charters.
