    Place of baptism from Robert Hoffman Oct. 1993. Birth date and place from St. Paul birth records. St. Paul city directories of 1910 and 1912 show Grace working as a clerk at the Emporium in St. Paul. Grace played the ukelele.

    Emma didn't get married until age 28, then she eloped. Her husband died 26 years later and she never remarried. She was a widow for 22 years. Her occupation in the 1912 St. Paul city directory was given as seamstress.

    Walter was a fireman for the city of St. Paul. Fell into a fire once, broke 6 ribs, broke his pelvis in 6 places, punctured a kidney, got pneumonia and pertonitis and was not expected to live. Went back to work a year later.
    Played clarinet in the firemen's band.
