== Research Notes ==
: Timothée, his brother Thomas, and their father, Thomas Lefebvre, were captured by Col Benjamin Church at their territory of Koessanouskek (or Kouesanouskek), situated between Meniekec (today Owl’s Head, opposite Rockland, Maine, on Penobscot Bay) and the St-George River. [seigneurie de Pentagouet (ou Grandchamp)]. Church took them with him when he raided Pentgouet. Church reports on the frontier-style interrogation of Timothee Lefebvre, who was pressed to lead Church to the French and Indian encampments nearby.

"The captains of the long-boats took their captives to Colonel Church on Matinicus, and they were interogated separately, one after the other. Lefebvre pere, intractable and trying to escape, would reveal nothing .
Then the colonel, to intimidate the sons,
ordered the Indians to stage a torture scene in their own manner.
Each of the sons was tied separately to a sturdy post
and threatened with being burned. alive. Timothy, the first to
be questioned~ was told.that his father had already:talked, so
he.revealed all.that he claimed.to know. But his brother Thomas
evidently knew more, and confessed that he had received a commission
from Gov. Vaudreuil to direct, with other Canadians, a party of
Indians in an incursion .against the British toward the west. He
was in charge of food and munitions for this expedition. He con-sented to .. lead the invaders to .. the place where . the supplies were
hidden, and also to guide them to French or Indian homes from
the Penobscot River to the Passamaquoddy.":: — "Thomas Lefebvre et le fief Kouesanouskek" by Quebec Historian Honorius Provost (Translated by Shirley P. Barrett) recounts Timothée's role in some misadventures at Koessanouskek, bordering the St-George River, where French Acadia met New England.Honorius Provost, ptre. archiviste. Seminaire de Quebec. "Being asked where they were? Answered at Passamequado; building a fort there. Being also asked, What number of Indians and French there were at Penobscot? He answered, There were several families, but they lived scattering. Asked him further, If he would pilot our forces thither? Answered, He would if the Commander would not let the savages roast him. Upon which the Colonel ordered him to be loosed from the stake, and took him by the hand, told him, He, would be as kind to him as his own father." :: — "The Entertaining History of King Philip's War", by Thomas Church, recounts Timothée's role in some misadventures at Koessanouskek, bordering New England, at the St-George River.
Church, Thomas. "The entertaining history of King Philip's War, which began in the month of June, 1675. :Honorius Provost and Thomas Church have each noted, as we can as well, that after 1704 Timothée Lefebvre does not appear in any records of his birth family's marriages and baptisms. Moreover he is not even mentioned in the family's petition to restore its fiefdom, whereas his brothers are included.
:One wonders whether Church took Timothee under his wing, anglicized his name a bit, and married him off in Boston. Seeking a connection between this Timothee Lefebvre and Timothy Lefevre.
:See also the tale of James Gyles (1675-1692, who was captured by Madockowando, tortured, and burned at the stake at Pentagouet.
