He was the son of [[Achon-9|Jean Achon]] and [[Regnaud-1|Hélène Regnaud]]. Historically, Chambon was a parish of Saintonge that formed an enclave within the adjacent province of Aunis. Today Chambon is within the department of Charente-Maritime.
