| Notes |
- The existence of Aznar Sánchez is only known from the Genealogias de Roda[1]where he (in Latin as Asnari Sanzionis) is listed as the son of Sancho Garcia of Pamplona, (Latin Sanzio Garseanis)and his unnamed wife.[2]
As the name Aznar is not previously known in the Pamplona dynasty, it is theorised that his mother was from the family of the Counts of Aragon, and probably the daughter of Galindo Aznarez, conde de Aragon.[1] Salazar y Acha, proposes he was born about 858.[1]
Marriage
He married circa 880, his first cousin, Oneca Fortunez, the daughter of Fortun Garces, King of Pamplona and his wife Oria (Aurea).[1].
The Genealogias de Roda, states that he was her first husband, and that Oneca then married Abdallah I, Emir of Cordoba,[2] having further issue by him, but from what is known about the children of Aznar Sanchez and Oneca, this would make their chronology very difficult, and the most accepted solution is that the Genealogias de Roda has the marriages reversed and Aznar Sanchez is Oneca's second husband.[1] Though this still makes the chronology difficult, particularly in relation to the Islamic children and grandchildren of Oneca.[3]
Children
Three children of Aznar and Oneca are named in the Genealogias;[2]
Sancho Aznarez, born circa 882. Nothing more is known about him and he perhaps died young;[1]
Toda Aznarez, born circa 885, married circa 905, Garcia Iniguez I, King of Pamplona of Jimenez dynasty, and had issue;
Sancha Aznarez, born circa
