  Notes	According to Gesta Danorum, The sons of Halfdan were Ro, founder of Roskild, and Helge. They divided their father's realm, Helge taking the sea and Ro the land. [1] According to Hrólfs saga kraka ok kappa hans, Hróarr and his brother Helgi were the sons of Halfdan and Sigríd. Their father was killed by their uncle Frode, and their mother was killed when the brothers set fire to the hall that Frode had usurped. Later, Hróarr served and supported king Norðri, who ruled over several parts of England. In time, he married Norðri's daugher, Ögn, and settled in king Norðri's kingdom with her, while his brother Helgi ruled in Denmark.[2] Research Notes Corresponds to Hroðgar, king of Denmark, in Beowulf.
