- Ynglingasaga
Named as Alov (Olafsdottir) in the English version of the Ynglinga Saga, Alov was the daughter of Olaf the Far-sighted. She was the wife of Algaut Gautrekson. Olaf Treefeller's mother was Gauthild daughter of Alov, daughter of Olaf the Sharp-Sighted, King in Nerike[1]
Ynglingasaga p. 42 names Olov as the daughter of Olav, king of Nærike, and mother of Gauthild who was mother of Olav Tretelgja. P. 38 names Gauthild the wife of king Ingjald. P. 34 names Gauthild the daughter of Algaute and grandchild of Gautrek.
Upplendinga saga states:
Both sources have Álöf as the wife of Algaute.
Alov was the daughter of Olof den Klarsynte, and some literature name her as the wife of Gautrek Gautsson, but the sagas name her wife of Alrek Gautreksson. -Østenstad-1 06:20, 12 March 2023 (UTC)
