Her father, Óengus, was of the Uí Théig Chométa and was associated with Cell Chométa, a monastic site in Kilquade townland, County Wicklow. 'Feidelm daughter of Óengus' and her spouse, 'Colmán son of Cairpre' were the parents of Fáelán mac Colmáin Máir who founded the rise to power of the Ui Dunlainge dynasty and generations of the kings of Leinster.
