  Notes	Scarlet Fever Cause of Two Deaths at Wauconda Mrs. Darwin Brown, wife of a well known Wauconda farmer, died at her home near that village last Saturday morning of paralysis, which followed scarlet fever, and Mrs. Boehmer died of scarlet fever the following day. The remains of Mrs. Boehmer were interred at Evergreen cemetery here on Monday. She was, before her marriage, Miss Carrie Schley of Prairie View. Her husband is a brother-in-law and partner in business of Lee Brown, son of Mrs. Darwin Brown. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. August Boehmer of Wheaton and formaerly a resident of Barrington. He is left with two young children, both of whom and the father are ill with the disease which took the mother. Further accounts of these deaths will be found in the Wauconda correspondence.

The following obituary was printed under the CARY ACTIVITIES AND HAPPENINGS on 10 Feb. 1921: Mrs. Darwin Brown Mrs. M. Osgood, Wright Brown and sister, Julia attended the funeral of their sister-in-law, Mrs. Darwin Brown, at Wauconda, Tuesday. Mrs. Brown was 66 years old at the time of her demise. Some weeks ago she contracted scarlet fever while nursing her daughter, who was suffering with the same disease. Mrs. Brown also suffered with high blood pressure, and after being afflicted with a high fever, she suffered three paralytic strokes, causing her death. 10 Feb 1921 [S1438] Wauconda Cemetery.
