Although condemned to be hanged, drawn and quartered as a traitor, the sentence was mitigated and he was simply beheaded at Cheapside, London, in the 21st of King Richard II. The King himself a spectator, and FitzAlan's son-in-law, Thomas de Mowbray, the executioner.
